Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ - A new sewerage system with water-purifying station was put into operation in the Danceni village, central Ialoveni district, on 19 August. About 1,800 residents – 600 households, the kindergarten, mayoralty, vocational school, military unit and the office of family physicians - will benefit from all this.
The sewerage system with water-purifying station were constructed within an environmental project worth 22 million lei, financed from the state budget, through the National Ecology Fund (FEN) with 14 million lei provided by the state and another 8 million lei from local contribution.
According to the Danceni mayor, Victoria Butuc, the new sewerage network is of 22.4 km. The station has a capacity of 200 cubic metres/24 hours; it is endowed with two pumping stations, electric networks, sanitary zone. The project started in 2015.
„Unfortunately, in the last ten years, the situation has been disastrous at the National Ecology Fund; many projects have been initiated without having finality; the other important ones have not even got to be financed. I am happy that, despite all circumstances and obstacles, the project has been finished. The environment priorities of our mandate are to remove the sources of water pollution, as well as extend the afforested areas – a solution to equilibrate the climate balance and the water balance. The environmental projects must ensure the environment’s protection and the work of the ecosystems,’’ Environment Minister Iuliana Cantaragiu said, attending the event.
The minister and the local administration visited the waste deposit from the village and discussed potential solutions for an efficient management of solid waste.
Three water-purifying stations have been put into operation since early 2021 – in the villages Isnovat (Criuleni), Saratica Noua (Leova) and Plop (Donduseni).
