Moldova, World Bank to boost activities regarding infrastructure projects

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with new World Bank Country Manager for Moldova Inguna Dobraja. The officials tackled the most important subjects dealing with Moldova’s cooperation with this world financial institution, the presidential press service has reported.
At the meeting, the head of state stressed that the new Moldovan governance had a programme oriented to qualitatively transform Moldova and the development partners are invited to back the authorities to this end. ‘’The World Bank is open to further provide assistance for Moldova, with a new framework of partnership due to be worked out in the near future. Among the sectors of mutual interest, where we rely on the World Bank’s support, I mentioned the agriculture, energy sector, environment, as well as the social protection system, health and digitalization,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
To turn more efficient the cooperation between Moldova and the World Bank, the officials agreed that it was necessary to strengthen the capacities of implementation of the projects underway and the new ones. ‘’This will allow us ensure the carryout of all works in the terms established. Also, we agreed to boost the activities regarding the infrastructure projects, which are most expected by the citizens,’’ Maia Sandu added.
