Specialists of North Regional Development Agency pay fact-collecting visits to Romania

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the North Regional Council for Development (CRD Nord) and representatives of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) this week paid two working visits to Romania. The CRD Nord members visited two development regions of Romania: the North East and the West Regions. The north Moldova delegation visited more settlements and tourist destinations from Romania, where they studied the Romanian experience in the regional development sector and had meetings with local public authorities.    

In the North East Development Region, the CRD Nord members studied, in Iasi, the experience of the operator of water supply, sewerage and water purification ApaVital stock company. The sides discussed aspects on the most efficient water and sewerage supply systems.  

In the municipalities of Iasi, Suceava, Piatra Neamt and Gura Humorului, representatives of the county councils and mayoralties of these settlements presented success projects in the sectors of urban development, economic development, tourism, as well as the own vision on the regional development process.    

ADR Nord of Moldova and ADR North East of Romania signed a memorandum on mutually advantageous cooperation in the regional development sector in Piatra Neamt in 2011.   

In the West Development Region, in Timisoara, the ADR West leadership presented to the CRD and ADR Nord members from Moldova more projects financed through the regional operational programme in 2007-2013 in the fields of water/sewerage, urban development and tourism, as well as through international instruments used by ADR West.  

The North Development Region of Moldova has been cooperating with Romania’s West Region since 2011, based on a memorandum signed in Arad. The West Region of Romania is made up of the counties Timis, Arad, Caras-Severin and Hunedoara.

The working visits to Romania took place within a project on support for the CDR members, financed by the government of Germany through the Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Moldova.
