Artists from 11 countries to participate in Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ - Artists from the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Spain, United States and Ukraine will participate in the 29th issue of the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival, due in Chisinau on 5-26 September.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of the Maria Biesu Opera and Ballet Theatre, Ion Grosu, said that over 20 people playing the leading parts in seven plays would be present at the festival.
According to Grosu, given the measures of protection against COVID-19, only 250 spectators will be present in the hall of 1,100 places. The festival will start with the opera Traviatta by Giuseppe Verdi, conductor Andriy Yurkevych.
The 28th issue of the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival was held online; the opening - in open air at the Mimi Castle and the closing – on the National Opera’s square.
The 2021 edition of the festival is organized by the Culture Ministry, Maria Biesu Opera and Ballet Theatre and other institutions.
