Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs of the 11th legislative period today participated in a festive ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
The event was held at the parliament’s plenary session hall and brought together lawmakers of the new parliament, as well as members of the executive bureau of the Public Association Parliament 90.
Representatives of the parliamentary factions gave congratulatory messages at the rostrum.
An MP of the parliamentary faction of the Shor Party, Petru Jardan, said that ‘’after 30 years, time is ripe for us to overcome the divergences, join efforts in order to edify, to be able to be everybody happy with a prosperous, democratic and free country. We have chance to lay the foundations of a sustainable development for the good of the country. To use everyone’s experience and knowledge!’’
Deputy Parliament Speaker Vlad Batrincea stressed that an open dialogue was needed in the society. ‘’If we want to edify a prosperous state, we must reunify the people, bring the best practices of law. We should build a civilized, consolidated society, in which each citizen feels protected,’’ Vlad Batrincea said.
Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popsoi said that namely due to the devotion of the MPs of the first parliament, the dream of an independent country had come true. ‘’I want to assure the citizens of Moldova that the lawmakers of the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) will work with self-denial, so that the next 30 years be better than the years which have passed. It is important that we understand that the independence of a country is not just a declaration. This is when the country enjoys economic growth, mutually advantageous relations with the neighbours and the international community, when it can provide its citizens a decent living, an ensured future and opportunities of self-assertion here, at home.’’
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu came up with a congratulatory message addressed to Moldova’s citizens. In the message, Grosu said, inter alia: ‘’After 30 years of independence, I want our young people to remain at home, to invest in our country. I want our young people to value the work, modesty, care for the community and environment, respect for the law and team work. For this, we need the involvement of each citizen, each family. I call on all people who care about our country to get involved. We can transform our aspirations into real changes only with your help, with the participation of each of you. Dear friends, I sincerely wish everybody a wonderful holiday of 27 August! The success of Moldova is the success of each citizen. Congratulations, Moldova! We are Moldova only together!
In the end, the Academic Choir Chapel Doina, conducted by People’s Artist Ilona Stepan, sang the National Anthem of Moldova.
