As many as 512 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 6,621 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 512 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which 421 among non-vaccinated people. Twenty one out of these cases are import ones. As many as 265,258 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), eight out of the new cases are among medical employees (two physicians, four medical assistants and two representatives of the auxiliary staff).

As many as 849 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 78 are in extremely serious condition and eight patients are connected to mechanical ventilation.  

In the context, 2,013 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 21,250 are under supervision at home.

Another 239 people have been treated. As many as 255,724 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another five deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 6,374 people have died of coronavirus in all.
