EU Ambassador to Moldova awarded Diplomatic Merit medal

Chisinau, 25 August /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has awarded the Diplomatic Merit medal, first class, to Ambassador Peter Michalko, as a token of appreciation for the efforts made in the direction of a European way for Moldova. This is the highest distinction of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), the MAEIE press service has reported.    

At an interview, the foreign affairs minister said that the European official, on the period of his mandate, had significantly contributed to the strengthening of the rule of law state, backing the reforms and edifying solid really European democratic institutions, which are to work for the benefit of the citizens.      

At the same time, the deputy prime minister noted that the today’s action was meant to highlight the personal merit of Ambassador Peter Michalko for the development of numerous projects and initiatives with a strong impact nationally and locally, which helped improve the Moldovans’ living standards.  

In the end, the official conveyed, on this occasion, wishes of success in the subsequent professional work and invitation to further remain a good friend of Moldova.
