Moldovan electoral body provides councillor mandates in 14 settlements of Moldova

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) members today accredited five people on behalf of Consulate of Turkey in Comrat and three persons on behalf of the EU Delegation to Chisinau as international observers for the elections to the People’s Assembly (local parliament) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, due on 19 September.
At the same time, the central electoral administration gave mandates to the alternate candidates of the ACUM Electoral Bloc, Dignity and Truth Platform and Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) in the Chisinau Municipal Council, following the election of more municipal councilors as MPs.
Also, CEC provided mandates of councilors to the alternate candidates in the local councils of 14 settlements of Moldova.
In the end of the meeting, the CEC members declared vacant one lawmaker seat and suggested that the Constitutional Court validates the MP mandate of the alternate candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, Viorel Bardar.
