Events on Independence Day of Moldova launched today

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova began this morning with the flower-laying ceremony at the Eternity Memorial Complex, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The ceremony was attended by Speaker Igor Grosu, President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița.

The officials laid flowers at the Grieving Mother Monument. A minute of silence was held and bursts of fire were executed in memory of the fallen heroes.

The Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova was adopted and signed by 278 deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, on August 27, 1991.
