Book exhibition dedicated to Romanian language opened at Moldova's National Library

Chisinau, 31 August /MOLDPRES/ - A book exhibition titled, Our Language – the Garment of our Essence, has been opened at the National Library of Moldova (BNRM).

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the exhibition’s curator, Tatiana Gheiceanu, said that the exhibition presented to the wide public documents from BNRM’s collection, which show the importance of the Romanian language in looking for our national identity.

According to Gheiceanu, the exhibition includes three divisions. The first one presents textbooks of Romanian language from the inter-war period, which circulated in schools from Bessarabia. The second division comprises works by writers who fought for the recognition and revival of the Romanian language as official language in Moldova. The last division of the exhibition is dedicated to outstanding linguists of Moldova.

The exhibition will be staged at the national library till 25 September.
