Conference dedicated to 30th anniversary of National Army's foundation held in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Agency for Military Science and Memory, in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Moldova and the Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of Armed Forces, has organized a jubilee conference titled, Moldova’s National Army – 30th Anniversary of Foundation.
The participants in the event discussed the premises for the creation of the National Army, evolution of the defence and military security policies, servicemen’s participation in peacekeeping operations, bilateral relations in the military sector with the states of the world and international organizations, including NATO, as well as other issues regarding the military institution’s work.
Attending the event, Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii said that, during those 30 years of work, the political and military relations established between the Defence Ministry and the power wielding structures of other states had fundamentally contributed to ensuring the national, regional and international security.’’ The National Army initiated and signed over 30 bilateral agreements with governments and international structures, which concern diverse aspects of cooperation in the security and defence sector,’’ Nosatii stressed.
At the conference, Defence Ministry’s representatives referred to the evolution and prospects of the defence and military security policy, organization of the system of leadership in the national security and defence sector, as well as the National Army’s role in the society. The deputy head of the NATO Liaison Office in Moldova, Barbora Paclíková, touched upon the relations between Moldova and NATO and cooperation within various programmes. At the same time, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Moldova Simon Springett spoke about the problems of the peacekeeping operations as factor of international stability and security, Moldova’s participation in such operations and prospects for cooperation on the concerned dimension.
Attending the conference were Ambassadors of Romania and Lithuania to Moldova, Daniel Ionita and Kęstutis Kudzamanas, respectively, representatives of the diplomatic missions from Ukraine and Poland, experts in the field of Moldova and from abroad.
The conference, Moldova’s National Army – 30th Anniversary of Foundation, was organized by the Agency for Military Science and Memory, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the National Army’s creation, an event marked on 3 September 2021.
