Chisinau, 2 September /MOLDPRES/ - Ten schools out of those 88, which started the school year in mixed format – with physical presence and online, will ensure the pupils’ physical presence at classes starting from 3 September. Some of the ten schools will organize the education process in two shifts. At the same time, in some cases, the headmasters re-evaluated the school rooms available and identified solutions for all people to be able to come to school, with the observance of the epidemiological requirements dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The leadership of the Education and Research Ministry made statements to this effect today.
According to the ministry, Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala had a working meeting with the heads of the local specialty bodies in the education sector, as well as more headmasters of the education institutions working based on mixed education formats. The minister asked them to make a real analysis of the situation, a reasoning of the model chosen by institutions, as well as proposals for improving the present scenarios.
Thus, at present, 78 out of the 1,240 elementary education institutions, gymnasiums and lyceums work in mixed format – online and with pupils’ physical presence. Seventy one of them are from Chisinau, 3 are from Donduseni, 3 – from Balti and one from Dubasari.
On 1 September, Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala, along with Health Minister Ala Nemerenco had a discussion with representatives of the public association, Solidary Parents, who demanded the revision of the decision adopted by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP), and especially in the part dealing with the cancellation of the provision on preserving the distance of 1 metre in classrooms. The demand is reasoned by the fact that this provision does not allow a certain number of institutions to organize the education process with the physical presence of all pupils in the school.
