Francophone bilingual classes to be additionally supported

Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/- To stimulate and perpetuate the Francophone Bilingual Classes Project in general secondary education institutions in our country, a Partnership Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the French Embassy in Moldova, the French Alliance of Moldova, the Organization International Francophonie and the University Agency of Francophonie.
The event, which took place yesterday at the Gheorghe Asachi Theoretical High School in the capital, was attended by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who was visiting Chisinau, Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala and Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu.
The Convention aims to achieve a number of objectives, such as: ensuring quality studies in French, in accordance with the programs developed and approved by the MEC; monitoring and evaluating the teaching / learning of French and French in French-speaking bilingual classes; ensuring the international recognition of bilingual education in Moldova and obtaining or reconfirming the prestige of bilingual high schools in the Republic of Moldova within the LabelFrancÉducation network; facilitating the professional insertion of graduates of French-speaking bilingual classes; supporting the initial and continuing training of teachers who teach in French-speaking bilingual classes.
Currently, eight high schools in the Republic of Moldova participate in the Francophone Bilingual Classes Project.
