Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities of Moldova and Greece will sign an Administrative Arrangement for the enforcement of the Agreement in the social security sector between the two states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document’s signing will allow Moldova’s citizens to benefit from the right to pension, even if they failed to have a minimal length of pensions service of 15 years needed in Moldova to be able to receive the pension, but fulfilled this condition by totalizing the insurance periods in both states.
When establishing the pension, each state will enforce its legislation in force. Both Moldova and Greece will calculate and pay the pension for the insurance periods carried out on their own territory, through applying the principle of proportionality.
Under the Agreement, decision-makers establish only the social insurances pensions and the allowances of disability triggered by accident at the working place or professional diseases. The provisions of the Agreement and the Arrangement create friendly conditions for migrants from Moldova to return home, as when reaching the retirement age, they will be able to enjoy the social security rights got in Greece.
The Administrative Arrangement for the enforcement of the Agreement in the social security field between the two states is to be signed on 8 September 2021, during a visit to Moldova by the Greek foreign affairs minister.
