New Swedish ambassador presented copies of credentials

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, received today copies of credentials of new ambassador of Sweden to Moldova Katarina Fried.
According to the MAEIE press service, the officials discussed the current state of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Diplomats advocated intensifying political dialogue, expanding sectoral cooperation, making full use of investment opportunities and implementing Sweden-funded official development assistance projects in support of Moldova's European path.
An exchange of views on current issues on the OSCE agenda was also held, with a view to Sweden holding the presidency of the organization.
Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu expressed the Swedish side's full gratitude for the consistency and solidarity shown both bilaterally and on multilateral platforms, regarding the efforts undertaken by Chisinau, including in the format of 5 + 2 negotiations, aiming at a lasting solution to the conflict on the left bank of the Dniester.
At the same time, the Moldovan official assured the Swedish diplomat of the full support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in fulfilling the mandate, expressing confidence that during it the relations of the Republic of Moldova with the Kingdom of Sweden will continue to develop in an ascending spirit.
