Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau municipality started today purchasing, as a matter of urgency, a batch of tests to identify COVID-19 infection, which will be used to test teachers who have not yet been vaccinated. Actinh head of the General Directorate of Health and Social Assistance Boris Gîlca made the statement at today's weekly meeting of the city hall.
The mechanism and the way of testing teachers are currently being discussed with the Ministry of Education. "Most likely, teachers will be tested at medical institutions in the area of geographical proximity where the educational institution is located," said Gîlca.
Mayor Ion Ceban said that the burden of testing cannot be placed on the shoulders of education employees, because a part of the staff that is still insufficient in the institutions in the capital, could be fired. He said that to date, almost 80 percent of teachers in the capital have been immunized, and in the next period mobile teams of doctors will be created who will go to educational institutions to immunize those interested and inform them about the benefits of vaccination.
The Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health has decided that from September 1, all employees of educational institutions in the country will be required to submit negative tests for the new coronavirus, if they are not vaccinated.
