EU's ambassador to Chisinau presented copies of credentials

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- European Union's ambassador to Moldova Janis Mazeiks today presented copies of credentials to Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the MAEIE press service has reported.
Nicu Popescu highlighted the strategic nature of the relationship with the European Union and reviewed the main short- and medium-term objectives in promoting Moldova's European path, including the Eastern Partnership.
The official expressed certainty that the Chisinau authorities will take full advantage of opportunities in such areas as economy, digitalization, infrastructure, health, environment.
Also, he appreciated the role of European partners in supporting the implementation of the Association Agreement, the generous assistance provided by the European Union and the new perspectives it opens for strengthening internal reforms and increasing the prosperity of the country's citizens.
Popescu congratulated the new head of the EU Delegation on appointment and wished him success in exercising mandate in the Republic of Moldova to develop partnership relations with the European Union.
