New head of customs service introduced to team

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- Igor Talmazan has been appointed director of the Customs Service, starting today, September 6. The new director of the Customs Service was introduced this morning to the institution's staff by the Minister of Finance, Dumitru Budianschi.
The Minister of Finance congratulated the new head of customs and mentioned that the main objectives to be achieved are: strengthening the capacity of the Customs Service to ensure receipts from the state budget, improving the conditions of customs procedures for economic agents, eliminating smuggling and increasing the efficiency of the institution.
Igor Talmazan specified that he is aware of the immense responsibility he will have towards the economic agents, but also towards each individual citizen. The Director of Customs also specified that, in the customs system, as in any other system, many processes need to be improved and reformed, committing himself to promoting a sharp anti-corruption policy. In the end, Igor Talmazan expressed his confidence that with the changes that will follow in the next period in the Customs Service, the image of the institution will change.
Igor Talmazan specializes in Public Law, being a lawyer by profession. During 2019, he acted as head of the Control Corps of Prime Minister Maia Sandu. Previously, he also held the positions of head of the State Ecological Inspectorate and Deputy Minister of Environment.
