Eight projects to strengthen human rights in Transnistria to be funded by Sweden, UN

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- Eight human rights projects worth about 85,000 dollars will be carried out in the Transnistrian region with the support of Sweden, provided through the UN Joint Program Strengthening human rights on both banks of the Dniester.
Through the initiatives, civil society organizations on the left bank of the Dniester will promote the socio-economic participation of socially vulnerable groups, in particular, people with disabilities, Roma, people living with HIV, survivors of domestic violence on both banks of the Dniester . Thus, three projects aim at developing infrastructure for people with disabilities, such as the installation of adapted banks in one of the parks in Tiraspol and the installation of access ramps in institutions providing public services.
In the period 2020-2021, Sweden and the UN supported another 14 projects to strengthen human rights in the Transnistrian region, totaling 73 thousand USD.
