Only adult population to be vaccinated in Moldova - health ministry says

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Health came up with details regarding the vaccination of children against COVID-19 and announced that no order had been issued on the matter.

The National Advisory Committee of Experts on Vaccination convened in a meeting on August 23 and expressed opinion on vaccination of children over 12 years, pleading for vaccination.

"Taking into account the fact that the opinion of the Committee is only as a recommendation, the Ministry of Health remained on its previously expressed position that in the Republic of Moldova only the adult population is vaccinated", a communiqué of the Ministry of Health reads.

According to official statistics, so far 1,306,726 doses of vaccine have been administered in our country. The national coverage with a dose is 21.96%, with a complete scheme - 20.61%.
