Vine, Wine Office signed memorandum of cooperation with Romanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- Representatives of the National Vine and Wine Office signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) yesterday.

The document aims to increase the cooperation of Moldovan producers with those in Romania, to promote the Black Sea wine region and to enhance the wine capital of the two countries.

Through this new partnership, the National Office of Vine and Wine reiterates its interest in establishing cooperative relations that serve the common interest of both states.

The director of the National Office of Vine and Wine, Cristina Frolov, said that our country wants to increase the market share of wine production by at least 50% compared to 2020, and the number of producers present on the Romanian market - by at least 40%.

“In the next period, we will start activities to promote the country brand Wine of Moldova as a producer of quality wines, increasing its notoriety through actions that confirm the excellence of wines produced in the Republic of Moldova. Together with CCIR we want collaborations with Romanian producers to promote the Black Sea wine region in markets such as China, Japan and the Americas. First of all, the promotion of common local varieties, we establish collaboration relations between two countries with a common history ", Frolov said.

Along with the promotion on third markets of the Black Sea wine region, the signing of this memorandum will allow the exchange of experience and transfer of information in the wine field, identification of new export opportunities, promotion of the oeno-tourist region as a common tourist route. , thus contributing to the growth of the vinification segment both in the Republic of Moldova and in Romania.

The data of the National Office of Vine and Wine show that, in the first 7 months of the current year, of the total volume of exports, bottled wines constitute 26,886,586 liters, registering an increase of 10%, with a value of 1,099,881,474 lei, which which is 32% more than the same period last year.
