West Thermal Power Plant in Moldovan capital to be rehabilitated

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- Termoelectrica announced that it is rehabilitating the gas evacuation chimney at the West Thermal Power Plant (CT Vest) in Chisinau. The height at which the works are carried out reaches 100 meters, and the team involved in this project consists of about 10 specialists.

Specialists will install inside the existing chimney another metal one, resized to the current thermal loads, which will improve the flue gas process produced by the energy machine and will allow the improvement of operating parameters in compliance with all ecological norms.

The works are carried out in two stages. The first involves the internal processing of the walls of the concrete chimney and the installation of the metal construction inside it. The deadline for completing this stage is October 15.

In the second stage, until the end of the year, the reinforcement and reinforcement works of the construction on the outside will be carried out.

The same reconstruction technique was used in 2019 for the chimney at CT Sud.

The CT West exhaust chimney was built in 1970, with the commissioning of the plant and has a height of 100 meters.
