New head of Writers' Union of Moldova

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- The General Assembly of the Writers' Union of Moldova today elected a new president to head the organization. This is the poet Teo Chiriac, Master of Literature, winner of the National Prize, who in the period 2010-2021 held the position of vice-president of USM.
Only one candidacy was entered in the ballot. For Teo Chiriac, 118 members of USM out of the 142 present at the meeting expressed their vote.
The president of the Writers' Union of Moldova, Teo Chiriac, said he is satisfied that, under the conditions of the pandemic restriction, the USM leadership managed to organize this meeting.
Currently, the Writers' Union of Moldova has 230 members.
In 2017 he was awarded the National Prize and in 2020 - the Constantin Stere prize for literature of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research for the volume “The friction between everything and nothing. Theophanes in A4 format ”.
