Chisinau,11 September /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu sent a message commemorating the victims of the terrorist attacks, which took place on September 11, 2001 in the United States of America, the presidential press service has reported.
"Twenty years have passed since thousands of families around the world continued to mourn their deaths. Nearly 3,000 people who quietly went to work or travel that day and hundreds of people who later died due to health complications caused by toxic asbestos in collapsed buildings, "reads the message of President Maia Sand.
The head of state mentioned that September 11, 2001 showed us how interconnected, but also how fragile the world we live in is. "Today's lesson tells us that today's governments must be even more supportive in the face of global dangers, in order to ensure the security of citizens. And that the rule of law, democracy and freedom must be defended every day. This is the foundation of the society in which human life has priority ", Maia Sandu said.
