Drugs worth over 5 million lei found, seized by police

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/- Officers of INI's North Investigation Directorate of the IGP, under the leadership of the Balti Prosecutor's Office have dismantled the illicit activity of a criminal group specializing in the sale of PVP-type synthetic drugs through online stores.

According to INI, as a result of carrying out special investigative measures and criminal prosecution actions, the police established that on May - September, four men aged between 21 and 31 put into circulation a quantity of drugs in proportions. particularly large, which they sold on the territory of Balti municipality and in the northern part of the Republic of Moldova.

Law enforcement officers conducted nine searches at the suspects' homes, in which they found 5.5 kg of PVP-salt, 1 kg of marijuana, eight mobile phones, SIM cards, money in the amount of 32 thousand lei and 50 euros, scales electronic devices and an artisanal device for drug use.

The value of the seized drugs amounts to approximately 5,000,000 lei.

Persons suspected of committing the crime were given a pre-trial detention measure. If proven guilty, they face up to seven to 15 years in prison.
