Moldovan parliament to hold events on International Democracy Day

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- On International Democracy Day, Parliament will hold several briefings on legislative process, MPs work and involvement of people in decision-making, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Thus, on September 15, between 10:00 and 16:00 in the square of the institution will be arranged spaces for visitors, who will be able to discuss with deputies and the leadership of Parliament, will watch videos about legislative activity, will send messages or requests to deputies in petition box. At the same time, officials will help those who wish to formulate and send a petition correctly or to register a request for an information visit to Parliament.
From 13:00 to 15:30, the employees of the legislative institution will organize guided tours of the Legislative building, with predetermined hours from half to half an hour, for all those who wish. The groups will consist of a maximum of 10 people, and the entry will be based on an identity document, accompanied by one of the following documents: SARS-CoV-2 vaccination certificate, negative result of an RT-PCR test, negative result certificate of a rapid antigen test or confirmatory medical conclusion in the case of persons who have undergone COVID-19.
The children will enjoy a space specially arranged for them, where they will be able to draw, do puzzles and have fun.
The territorial information offices of the Parliament from Edineț, Orhei, Leova and Comrat, in partnership with local NGOs, will organize a series of workshops for adults and young people about the mechanisms of people's involvement in the decision-making process.
According to the Decision of the Extraordinary National Commission for Public Health (CNESP), the condition of wearing protective masks during the events is mandatory.
The United Nations General Assembly has decided to mark the International Day of Democracy on 15 September 2008. It aims to celebrate democracy and to remind the importance of promoting and protecting this universal value.
