Moldovan president - functional state with integrated institutions to boost interaction between two banks of Dniester

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting today with Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, Special Representative of OSCE chairperson-in-office for the Transnistrian settlement, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials exchanged views on the current dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, and discussed the prospects for the next period. "I said that at present, the Government's priority is to strengthen the institutions and fight corruption. A functional state with integrated institutions will make the right bank more attractive, and thus will boost the interaction between the inhabitants on the two banks of the Dniester and will facilitate the reintegration process ", said the head of state.
During the discussion, the parties agreed that they will continue to seek solutions to ensure respect for human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian region, and to solve the daily problems of citizens. "The Government will also ensure better inter-institutional cooperation between key agencies and line ministries, in order to develop coherent and effective reintegration policies," Maia Sandu said.
