Chisinau city hall, culture ministry to assess jointly monuments of architecture of downtown

Chisinau, 15 September /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall and Culture Ministry will work out a joint roadmap to assess architectural monuments in historic center of the capital.
Mayor Ion Ceban had a meeting with Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan and discussed the need to set up a roadmap, identifying the common topics for the ministry and the Chisinau City Hall.
In this context, the mayor highlighted the need to involve the two entities in evaluating the architectural monuments in the historic center of the city, about 900 buildings. "This will allow the advancement in the elaboration of the Center Zonal Urban Plan, on which the mayor's office is currently working", the quoted source said.
Also, the two institutions aim to adjust the legislation on historical monuments, which will give clarity to both residents, city hall and investors.
Recently, the local administration of Chisinau noted that by 1 April 2022, no new permissive documents will be issued for constructions in the historic area of the city.
