Moldovan speaker - Parliament's zero priority - fight against corruption, justice reform

Chisinau, 15 September /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu together with Head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration Doina Gherman met this morning with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korčok, who is on an official visit to our country. The delegation included Ambassador Dušan Dacho and other Slovak officials.
Igor Grosu welcomed the presence of the Slovak dignitary in our country and took the opportunity to thank him for the help that Slovakia has offered to the Republic of Moldova over the years in political, economic and various social projects. "We also appreciated the support provided, since the beginning of the pandemic, for our health system. These are gestures of solidarity that will bring our countries even closer ", pointed out Igor Grosu.
The speaker presented the priorities of the Chisinau legislature, including reforming the judiciary, fighting corruption, creating a favorable climate for foreign investment and business.
In this regard, interest was expressed in establishing more substantial parliamentary contacts, including at the level of committees and friendship groups.
Ivan Korčok welcomed the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and encouraged the state authorities in their efforts to modernize the country, noting that structural reforms are the engine of increasing the well-being of the population.
