Qatar encouraged to invest in infrastructure in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 September /MOLDPRE/- President Maia Sandu met today Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Moldova Faisal Al-Buainain. The discussion focused on the current situation in the country, as well as bilateral relations, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state thanked for the humanitarian assistance provided in recent years by Qatar to fight the pandemic and to support the medical system in Moldova. Also, the trade-economic relations between our countries were approached.

Maia Sandu said that a more intense cooperation in the agri-food field, as well as implementation of some infrastructure projects are needed. In this context, she encouraged Qatari investments in projects to diversify energy resources in Moldova or in wind power companies.
