Moldova, Turkey to boost economic exchanges, cooperation

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on the sidelines of participation in the high-level segment of the 76th session of the General Assembly of the Organization United Nations. The officials reaffirmed Moldova's interest in deepening bilateral dialogue on strategic cooperation between states, the MAEIE press service has reported.
"We welcomed the increase in investment flow in recent years and agreed to boost economic exchanges and sectoral cooperation, including speeding up negotiations to eliminate roaming charges between Moldova and Turkey. We also agreed to complete in the near future the procedures for ratifying the Agreement on the conversion and mutual recognition of driving licenses ", said Nicu Popescu.
The talks also focused on security situation in the region, interaction in regional initiatives and cooperation in international forums.
The foreign minister invited his counterpart to pay a visit to Chisinau. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accepted the invitation.
