Moldovan cabinet approved semi-annual report on execution of national public budget for 2021

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- Cabinet approved today semi-annual report on execution of the national public budget (BPN) and its components for 2021. The report consists in informing the Parliament on the progress of the execution of the BPN in the first 6 months of the current year. The report presents data on the execution of revenues, expenditures, deficit and sources of financing the deficit for the first half of 2021, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

According to the report, the revenues of the national public budget for the first semester of 2021 amount to 34.9 billion lei, increasing by 5.9 billion lei compared to the same period of the previous year.

The revenues collected by the State Fiscal Service amounted to 22.6 billion lei, by 3.3 billion lei more than in the same period last year. The revenues collected by the Customs Service amounted to 12.6 billion lei, 2.7 billion lei more compared to the similar period of 2020.

BPN expenditures made in the first half of 2021 amounted to 38.3 billion lei, increasing by 5.9 billion lei compared to the same period of the previous year.

The execution of the national public budget in the first 6 months of 2021 ended with a deficit of 3.4 billion lei, or 1.5% of the Gross Domestic Product, given that the budget deficit target for 2021 was set by 6 , 5% of GDP.

As of June 30, 2021, the state debt balance amounted to 75.6 billion lei, registering an increase compared to the end of 2020 by 7.7 billion lei or 11.4%, at face value.

The semi-annual report on the implementation of BPN and its components for 2021 is to be presented to Parliament.
