Another 32,760 doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine arrived in Chisinau

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/- A batch of 32,760 doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine arrived in Chisinau today. The National Agency for Public Health has received the eighth tranche of the 700,830-dose batch that was purchased by the Ministry of Health through the Office for the Management of External Assistance Programs.
According to the Ministry of Health, the doses are to be distributed proportionally in all vaccination points in the country. So far, ANSP has received 174,330 doses from the batch purchased by the Ministry of Health.
The acquisition was made in the context of the implementation of the "Health" Component of the Project "Emergency Response to COVID-19 and support for micro, small and medium enterprises", in accordance with the Loan Framework Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank , signed on July 29, 2020 and ratified by Law no. 168/2020.
In total, the Republic of Moldova received 400,140 doses of Pfizer vaccine. Through the COVAX platform - 125,190 doses, donation from Romania - 100,620 doses, acquisitions - 174,330 doses. So far, 769,140 people in the Republic of Moldova have completed the complete vaccination schedule, and since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, 1,375,981 doses of vaccine have been administered.
