Three men detained after trying to save from imprisonment three persons involved in file on rape in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - Three men from Floresti and Sangerei today were detained by officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) and anticorruption prosecutors in a file on influence peddling. They would have claimed from more people, who were tried for sexual offences, 55,000 lei from each for a milder sanction.

According to CNA, the suspects would have promised that they can influence public people, both among policemen and prosecutors of the Floresti Court, in order to prompt them to take decisions friendly for the people involved in the file on rape.

A criminal file on influence peddling was opened on this case and the three suspects were detained for 72 hours. If found guilty, they run the risk of getting up to 7 years of imprisonment or criminal fine.
