Moldovan Health Ministry says number of COVID-19 cases increases

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 7,336 cases of COVID-19 were registered on the period 20-26 September, up by 6.3 per cent against the previous week. The Health Ministry made public data to this effect today.
According to the ministry, most patients development light and asymptomatic forms of the disease (80.9 per cent), followed by patients with medium-seriousness forms (11.6 per cent) and serious forms (7.5 per cent). Presently, 148 patients are in intensive therapy sections.
One hundred deaths have been recorded in the last seven days, increasing by 35.1 per cent against the week 37 (74 deaths) and up by 17.6 per cent against the week 36 (85 deaths).
The red code alert was established for the Chisinau and Balti municipalities, the Sangerei and Ungheni district, following the analysis of the epidemiological indexes. The orange code alert was set for the Comrat city and the districts of Anenii Noi, Basarabeasca, Briceni, Cahul, Calarasi, Cimislia, Criuleni, Donduseni, Drochia, Edinet, Floresti, Falesti, Glodeni, Ialoveni, Leova, Nisporeni, Rascani, Soldanesti, Soroca, Stefan Voda, Straseni and Telenesti. Other areas are in the yellow code alert state.
As many as 1,388,566 vaccine doses have been administered since the beginning of the anti-COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The national coverage with one dose is of 23.57 per cent and with full scheme of vaccination – 22.55 per cent.
