Works on improving aqueduct from north Moldova town close to completion

Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - The construction and assembling operations within the programme, Improvement of the water supply services in the Drochia town, financed by the European Union, is at the stage of completion. Specialists of the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) and regional consultants of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Moldova made a monitoring visit within the project, where they discussed also the organization of the ceremony on the ending the project – an event scheduled for the second half of October.
The implementation of the measures for providing the Drochia town with water will contribute to the modernization of the infrastructure for the supply of this service, enhancing the rate of residents’ connection to safe drinking water, thus improving the living conditions of the citizens and maintaining their health condition. ‘’Over 20,000 residents of the Drochia town will have access to safe drinking water,’’ according to ADR Nord.
The works within the project started in mid-November 2020. The value of the construction contract is 91.57 million lei, of which 5.98 million lei is the co-financing on behalf of the Drochia mayoralty and 500,000 lei – on behalf of the district council.
The project, Improvement of the water supply services in the Drochia town, is financed by the European Union and implemented by ADR Nord and the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova,(MLPS). The MLPS project is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ Moldova, in partnership with the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry.
