Weekly meeting of Joint Control Commission held in Bender

Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/- The Joint Control Commission met on 30 September in Bender, the Office for Reintegration Policy has reported.
According to the agenda, the Joint Military Command presented a report on the situation in the Security Zone for September 22-28.
Also, the JCC members were interested in the implementation of the planned actions at two posts of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces located on both banks of the Dniester near Vadul lui Voda. Assurances have been given that the works are proceeding according to the established schedule, and by the end of this year, their functioning will be improved so as not to affect the free movement of citizens.
The activity of the working group that examines the circumstances of the appearance of an illegal post of “border guards” near Zahorna locality was discussed. It was installed by Tiraspol on the site of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces post, reduced in 1999.
The destructive intentions of the members of the working group appointed by Tiraspol were highlighted, who oppose the fulfillment of the task and even promote the revision of the decision agreed by all the components of the JCC.
The OSCE Mission representatives informed the JCC of the results of the monitoring of the Security Zone between September 1-30. The information presented emphasizes that, between Bender and Varnița localities, at the intersection of Maţnev and 27 Aprilie streets, there is a line of concrete blocks that prevent the free movement of people, and at the station next to the ferry from Slobozia locality, Tiraspol introduced called "border guards" in violation of previously agreed agreements.
The Moldovan delegation condemns the serious violation by the Tiraspol exponents of the documents of the peacekeeping mission and will continue to insist on the elimination of illegal posts in the Security Zone.
