More than 900 coronavirus patients hospitalized in Chisinau

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/- Hospitals in Chisinau are struggling to cope with the new wave of coronavirus.
Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said at today's online meeting of municipal services that "municipal hospitals are struggling to cope with the new wave of coronavirus." According to the mayor, 929 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in the capital's hospitals, of which 44 people are in the Intensive Care Units.
At the same time, the mayor said "only the joint efforts of municipal and republican health institutions can cope with the pandemic situation in which our country is."
Also, Ceban said that the municipal administration takes into account the additional opening of beds in the Intensive Care Units, and an additional COVID-19 ward at hospital No4.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 297,232 people have contracted COVID-19, and 6,854 have died from complications caused by the new coronavirus.
