Most educational institutions in Moldovan capital operate with presence of pupils, teachers in classroom

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/- 111 municipal educational institutions in Chisinau operate with the physical presence of teachers and pupils in classrooms.

Acting head of the Youth Education and Sports Department of the Chisinau City Hall Andrei Pavaloi said at today's online meeting of municipal services that of the 131 municipal educational institutions, 111 operate with the physical presence of teachers and students in classes, and online courses are held in the other 20 schools. Pavaloi noted that 34 teachers tested positive for coronavirus and are in quarantine.

At the same time, mayor Ion Ceban congratulated the teachers on the occasion of their professional day, adding that the municipal administration takes all actions to provide support to teachers. "We offer 20 scholarships of one thousand lei each for the financial support of the teachers who are renting and we have offered compensations for the transport of teachers by bus and trolleybus", he said.

There are 10,300 teachers working in Chisinau.
