Over 7,000 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week-end

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service registered 7,146 calls on 1-3 October. As many as 2,395 patients were carried to emergency departments of hospitals from Moldova, of whom 526 children.
According to data by the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre (CNAMUP), respiratory emergencies represented the most frequent for calls – 2,321. Emergency medical assistance teams served 733 patients with acute viral infections, of whom 489 adults and 244 children.
On the same period, 1,180 calls were recorded for reasons of cardiovascular emergencies, including 13 patients with acute coronary syndrome. Neurology emergencies represented 769 cases, of whom 82 patients with cerebral vascular accidents.
The traumatology emergencies were 555 calls.
Twenty two traffic accidents were registered in the last week-end, in the wake of which 27 people with various injuries needed medical assistance.
At the same time, the Emergency Service received 23 calls on grounds of toxic emergencies. Emergency medical assistance teams provided the first medical aid to seven people who were intoxicated with medicines and one with alcohol.
