Teachers celebrate Professional Day on 5 October

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/- Education workers today mark their Professional Day. On this occasion, teachers in our country were congratulated by Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topala.

"Every year, on October 5, the International Education Day is marked all over the world. On this occasion, I pay tribute to you all and I express my gratitude to you, those who make significant efforts to educate and train the young generation, as well as to strengthen education in our country ", said Anatolie Topala.

The Minister thanked the teachers for their solidarity in the pandemic crisis. "Thank you for the solidarity, responsibility, professionalism you show in this time of crisis! Thank you for your dedication and altruism in shaping the future! Together, we can ensure a better future for our country. I wish you health, prosperity, remarkable successes, inspiration, optimism and new forces to continue the noble mission and to achieve new achievements! ”, the official wrote.

The International Education Day or as it is also called - of Education, marked annually on October 5, was established in 1994 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It marks the signing in 1966 of the UNESCO / IOM (International Labor Organization) Recommendation on the Status of Teachers. This recommendation, together with the one on higher education, from 1997, is the main frame of reference for addressing the rights and responsibilities of teachers on a global scale.
