Three customs officers of Otaci Customs Post to be investigated

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/- Two shift heads of Otaci Customs Post, a customs officer of the same post and an unemployed man were investigated by CNA officers for several acts of corruption. These were allegedly committed during the entry-exit procedure on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of a means of transport.

According to the CNA, a resident of the north of the country allegedly gave a bribe of $ 500 to the three customs officers, so that they could fraudulently remove from the country a car with foreign registration numbers, which had exceeded the legal term of 6 months in Moldova .

In fact, one of the customs officers took the car with foreign registration numbers from the territory of our country, and soon the second one would have completed the entry of the car on a non-resident person, by entering the information in the database.

In this case, a criminal case was initiated for active, passive corruption and influence peddling. If found guilty, they risk a fine or up to 10 years in prison.
