Moldovan president's message on teacher's day

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu addressed a congratulatory message to employees of the country's education system on Teacher's Day and International Education Day, which are marked today, the presidential press service has reported.

"I express my respect for your dedication and professionalism, for the optimism and creativity you work with every day. I know that many times, you take care not only of the teaching process, but of the lives and health of the children. Your work is an important investment in the future of every child and in the future of our country. I strongly believe in the power of education, which defines us as human beings, and I believe in your creative power. Happy birthday, dear teachers! ”, Maia Sandu's message reads.

Also in the context of these two holidays, last night, the head of state discussed, in online format, with several young teachers from various localities of the country. "On the eve of Teacher's Day and International Education Day, which we mark today, I wanted to know what their lives look like, what problems they face and what expectations they have from the authorities. I was glad to meet beautiful and enthusiastic young people, who through their work change, every day, the fate of the children in our villages and towns. I congratulated them for the courage to embrace this interesting profession, but also demanding ", said Maia Sandu.

The head of state discussed with young educators how important it is to build a society that values ​​education and a state that cares for teachers. "We talked about the things that can motivate young people to choose pedagogy and then go to schools where they are most needed - better salaries, affordable housing, opportunities for professional development and, most importantly, respect for the community," she said.
