New Secretary General of president appointed

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/- Today President Maia Sandu signed the decree appointing Cristina Gherasimov as Secretary General of the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the presidential institution, starting today Cristina Gherasimov was released from the position of adviser to the President of Moldova in the field of foreign policy, which she held since January 2021. To ensure the continuity of processes within the presidential institution, Cristina Gherasimov will coordinate policy issues external in the context of the new function.
Cristina Gherasimov has worked as a researcher at the Robert Bosch Center for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia, of the German Council on Foreign Affairs (DGAP). She holds a PhD in Political Science from Rutgers University in New Jersey (USA), has studied and researched at the European Institute for Advanced International Studies in Nice (France), the University of Wroclaw (Poland), the University of Mannheim (Germany) and at ETH Zurich (Switzerland).
Previously, the position of Secretary General of the President's Apparatus was held by Andrei Spinu, who in August was appointed Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
