Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - Three men run the risk of getting fines, after they have been documented at the border for the presentation of forged COVID-19 vaccination certificates and tests.
According to the General Inspectorate of Border Police, one of the men would have been vaccinated in the morning when his exit from Moldova was already authorized.
The incident was recorded at the Leuseni border crossing point in late last week. On the morning of 10 October, a 28-year-old man with residence in the Causeni district came at the entrance into Moldova. To be exempted from self-isolation, the man presented the proof of immunization with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which would have been issued by a medical institution from Chisinau. During additional verifications, border policemen found out that on the morning of the vaccination day, the man would have left the country through the Leuseni border crossing point.
At the hearings, the young man said that the certificate was authentic and a mistake was possible to occur, dealing with the date of the document’s issuance.
Other two Covid-19 tests with visible signs of forging were identified by border policemen at the border crossing points Costesti and Palanca. Lack of protection elements and inconsistency of details were found out in both acts.
Investigations were initiated in those three cases, in order to clear up all circumstances. If found guilty, the men run the risk of getting a criminal fine.
