Chisinau to host next meeting of Moldovan-Austrian commission for economic cooperation

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has had a meeting with Ambassador of Austria to Moldova Stella Avallone. The agenda of discussions included more subjects concerning the Moldovan-Austrian relations and the deepening of the bilateral contacts at all levels, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The officials referred to the political developments in Chisinau, epidemiological situation regionally, the reform of justice and prosecutor’s office, implementation of the government’s action programme, observance of human rights, attraction of investments and improvement of the citizens’ living standards.   

The PM thanked for the friendship and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, especially for the support provided by Austria on the period of COVID-19 pandemic.  

„The government is interested in the revival of the bilateral, economic field. We believe that Moldova has all chances to become a quite good environment for investments and, in this respect, the government’s role is to ensure the removal of all obstacles to the local and international investors, ‘’ Gavrilita noted.    

Ambassador Avallone expressed wish for the next meeting of the Moldovan-Austrian joint commission for economic cooperation from 2022 to take place in Chisinau. The diplomat also said the support provided by the Austrian Development Agency was aimed at improving the local infrastructure, especially for renovating the water supply and waste treatment systems.
