Vaccinated medical staff to benefit from one-off allowance from state

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- Vaccinated medical staff from Moldova, trained in the fight against COVID-19 will benefit from one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei in case of contracting the virus. A draft decision in this regard was approved today at a cabinet meeting, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The employees of the National Agency for Public Health, of the medical institutions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the National Administration of Penitentiaries, the Intelligence and Security Service, of the medical institutions will be included in the category of those eligible to benefit from the allowance offered by the state.
Employees who have not got vaccinated until the time the virus is contracted will no longer be able to receive the one-off allowance.
At the same time, the government established a single indemnity in the amount of 100 thousand lei for the staff involved in carrying out medical activities to combat the pandemic and vaccinated against COVID-19 within the above-mentioned medical institutions, who died in the fight against the virus.
The project was developed by the Ministry of Health in order to adjust support measures for medical workers at risk of disease in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The expenses necessary for the implementation of this decision will be covered by the Government's emergency funds.
