Moldova, Japan to sign customs agreement

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- The Cabinet of Ministers today approved the signing of the Agreement with the Government of Japan on mutual administrative assistance and cooperation in customs. The agreement aims to develop bilateral cooperation relations between the two states in the customs field, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The document provides for the granting of mutual administrative assistance by the customs authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Japan for the correct application of customs legislation, prevention, investigation and combating violations of customs legislation, as well as strengthening cooperation efforts to simplify and harmonize customs procedures.
The Republic of Moldova has concluded such treaties with 25 countries, and within the World Customs Organization, the European Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Cooperation - GUAM.
