Moldovan president, ambassador of United Kingdom discuss anticorruption reforms

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 13 October had a meeting with Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Steven Fisher, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed the support of the anticorruption reforms and in the justice sector. The head of state thanked for the support provided by the UK during years to ensure responsible governance in Moldova.
In the context, Maia Sandu expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the British partners in establishing a strategic communication in the field, through the technical assistance project, Support of anticorruption and justice reforms in Moldova. Within the project, local and international experts will contribute to the improvement of the public institutions’ capacity to combat the systemic corruption and to enhance the efficiency of the judicial system. The project will also back the involvement of citizens, non-state organizations, professionals from the legal sector and mass media for increasing the pressure on behalf of the society for the reforms in the sector.
