Simple motion against justice minister lodged in Moldova's parliament

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - The faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists lodged a simple motion against Justice Minister Sergiu Litvinenco at a plenary meeting today.
MP Vasile Bolea red the motion in the parliament’s plenum. The motion reads that the justice minister would have ‘’got involved in more processes and promotes a policy of undermining the independence of the Prosecutor General’s Office.’’
Under the legislation, the text of the simple motion must be submitted to the parliament speaker and is to be discussed in parliament during 14 days. The simple motion is subjected to discussions being accompanied by the note of the competent standing commission. The note will be made in a period of up to 7 working days after the motion’s lodging.
The today’s plenary meeting is held with the presence of the Co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The co-rapporteurs for the fulfillment of the obligations and commitments by Moldova, Inese Lībiņa-Egnere and Pierre-Alain Fridez, pay a fact-collecting visit to Moldova on 12-16 October.
